Funding your studies PGT Programmes

The Department of Social Science, Health & Medicine offers one Master’s Award of £9,000 and seven Master’s Stipends of £500 each per year for entry as a full-time student onto our Master’s programmes. All students, including those from the UK, EU and overseas, are eligible.

There is no separate application procedure for the scholarship. If you have submitted a complete application by midnight (UK time) on 31 March in the given year, you will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

A fully completed application includes a complete online application form, and also all supporting documents including personal statements, transcripts, references and IELTS certificates where appropriate. All materials must have been submitted via the Postgraduate Admissions Portal by the due time and date.

Each of our programmes will identify its top two candidates, based on previous academic performance, relevant experience (where appropriate) and the personal statement indicating reasons for applying to a particular programme.

A departmental panel will decide the top candidate and award the scholarship. The next top seven candidates (one from each programme) will be offered a £500 bursary.

All successful candidates will be notified by May 5th.
